EJAE of K-POP Demon Hunters to Marry Her Fiancé in November
Composer EJAE from Netflix’s film K-POP Demon Hunters is getting married.
According to media reports, she will tie the knot with her fiancé, Korean American producer Sam Kim, on November 7. Their wedding ceremony is set to take place at a golf course in Los Angeles, owned and operated by EJAE’s mother.
From Musical Partners to Life Partners
EJAE and Sam Kim first met in 2017 while working on music together. Over the years, they built a long-standing partnership as composers, which eventually grew into a romantic relationship. The couple got engaged toward the end of 2023.
Last month, they shared news of the proposal on social media. In the photos, Sam Kim is seen kneeling on a beautifully decorated lawn filled with personal memories, placing a ring on EJAE’s finger.
Singer and Songwriter with K-POP Roots
EJAE is a singer and songwriter who previously trained under SM Entertainment. She has contributed to songs for some of K-POP’s most iconic groups, including Red Velvet, aespa, and TWICE, establishing herself as a respected composer in the industry.
More recently, she gained global attention through Netflix’s animated series K-POP Demon Hunters, where she voiced Rumi, a member of the girl group HUNTR/X. She also wrote and composed the group’s song “Golden,” which was widely loved by audiences around the world.
Recognition at the Grammy Awards
EJAE’s talent was further recognized at the 68th Grammy Awards, held on February 2 in Los Angeles. “Golden” won in the category of Best Song Written for Visual Media, becoming the first K-POP song to receive this honor.
During her acceptance speech, EJAE shared, “This award means so much to me as a musician, but it means even more as an Asian American woman,” adding that she hopes it sends a message to never give up, to not be afraid of taking risks, and to continue holding onto resilience.
