TWICE’s Jeongyeon Leaves JYP Entertainment, Signs with VARO Entertainment

TWICE’s Jeongyeon (Yoo Jeongyeon) has officially signed an exclusive contract with VARO Entertainment, marking a new chapter in her career outside of JYP Entertainment.

VARO Entertainment announced the signing on August 10, 2026, stating that the agency will support Jeongyeon’s activities as an actress under her real name, Yoo Jeongyeon.

Jeongyeon Leaves JYP Entertainment After 11 Years

Jeongyeon had been with JYP Entertainment since before TWICE’s debut in 2015. After approximately 11 years with the company, she has now ended her exclusive contract with JYP Entertainment.

Jeongyeon also personally addressed the change through a handwritten letter shared on social media on August 10. She expressed her gratitude for the time she spent with JYP and said that she would be starting a new chapter.

Joining VARO Entertainment for Acting Activities

Under VARO Entertainment, Jeongyeon will pursue activities as an actress using her real name, Yoo Jeongyeon.

VARO Entertainment said it plans to support her in showcasing her various talents and building her career as an actress.

The agency is also home to Jeongyeon’s older sister, actress Gong Seungyeon, meaning the sisters will now be represented by the same agency.

Jeongyeon Will Continue Activities with TWICE

Importantly, Jeongyeon is not leaving TWICE.

In her handwritten message, Jeongyeon emphasized that TWICE will continue to be at the center of her activities. Her move to VARO Entertainment concerns her individual management and does not mean that she has departed from the group.

This means Jeongyeon will continue her activities as a member of TWICE while pursuing acting opportunities through VARO Entertainment.

A New Chapter for Jeongyeon

Jeongyeon made her debut as a member of TWICE in October 2015 and has spent more than a decade working with JYP Entertainment.

Her signing with VARO Entertainment now opens a new chapter focused in part on acting, while she remains a member of TWICE.
