A2O SOUL and A2O LITE Debut: Members, Songs & Concepts

The K-pop scene welcomed two new groups from A2O Entertainment in October 2026: A2O SOUL, a 15-member boy group, and A2O LITE, a nine-member girl group. Both groups were introduced through a joint debut show, marking A2O Entertainment’s first new idol group launch for the Korean market.

The project is led by Lee Soo-man, founder of SM Entertainment, who serves as A2O’s key producer and visionary leader. Music producer Yoo Young-jin also participated in the production of the groups’ music and performances.

A2O SOUL and A2O LITE officially began their debut activities with releases on October 13, 2026. A2O LITE debuted with the digital single “NEON,” while A2O SOUL released “SUPERSTAR” as a pre-release track for its debut album.

A2O’s Joint Debut: “WELCOME TO SOULITE”

On October 12, 2026, the two groups held their global debut show, “WELCOME TO SOULITE From A2O SOUL A2O LITE,” at KINTEX in Goyang, South Korea.

The event introduced both groups and featured their first performances. It also presented the broader creative direction behind the project, including a storyline connecting A2O SOUL and A2O LITE.

Rather than launching the groups separately, A2O Entertainment introduced them as part of one project. The company has previewed a shared fictional universe, although the full details of the storyline have not yet been disclosed.

The debut event also highlighted the company’s interest in combining music production with emerging visual technologies.

The Creative Team Behind A2O

A2O’s launch brings together two notable figures in K-pop production.

Lee Soo-man founded SM Entertainment and played a major role in the development of the company’s artist production system. At A2O, he serves as key producer and visionary leader. The October 2026 launch marked his return to the domestic K-pop market following the expiration of a three-year non-compete agreement earlier in the year.

Yoo Young-jin, a longtime music producer associated with SM Entertainment, participated in the music and performance production for both groups. His previous work includes music for artists such as H.O.T., BoA, TVXQ, Girls’ Generation, SHINee, and aespa.

Although A2O SOUL and A2O LITE were launched together, their debut releases establish different starting points: “SUPERSTAR” introduces A2O SOUL’s synth-driven sound, while “NEON” presents A2O LITE’s story of ambition, individuality, and growth.

A2O’s Interest in New Technology

The joint debut show also introduced A2O’s interest in emerging technology for entertainment production.

One technology discussed at the event was 4D Gaussian Splatting (4DGS). According to Lee Soo-man’s presentation, the process uses footage captured from multiple camera angles to reconstruct an artist’s appearance and movement in three-dimensional space over time.

The approach is intended to let viewers revisit recorded performances from different perspectives. Lee also discussed potential applications for extended-reality experiences and future content production.

These technologies were presented as part of A2O’s wider creative direction. They are distinct from the groups’ musical releases, and the company has not yet disclosed every detail of how such experiences will be made available to fans.

Final Thoughts

A2O SOUL and A2O LITE entered the K-pop industry through a joint launch that combines two different musical identities with a shared fictional universe. With 15 members in A2O SOUL and nine in A2O LITE, the project is a large-scale debut initiative led by Lee Soo-man and supported by producer Yoo Young-jin.

A2O LITE’s “NEON” and A2O SOUL’s “SUPERSTAR” provide the first introductions to the groups’ respective sounds and concepts. Further releases and official announcements will reveal how their shared storyline develops.

For K-pop fans, both groups are new names to watch as A2O Entertainment begins building its presence in the Korean music industry.
