U.S. Fedex Alert: FedEx ID to be required

Sep 3, 2025

Dear U.S. Kfriday customers,

FedEx ID Required

Due to FedEx’s sudden policy change, starting next Monday, September 8, all shipping requests for U.S.-bound FedEx International Connect Plus (FICP) will require your individual FedEx ID (a 9-digit or longer number). Without providing a valid FedEx ID, shipments via FICP will not be available.

Why this change?

FedEx is implementing this requirement to streamline customs clearance following the removal of the de minimis exemption (tax-free entry for packages under $800).

If you do not have a FedEx ID, you can still ship to the U.S. via FedEx International Priority (FIP) — which is as fast or up to one day faster than FICP — or via UPS. Please note, however, that these alternatives may be more expensive.

There could be more changes ahead.

We understand these are challenging times for cross-border shipping. We anticipate further changes as carriers, governments, and consumers adapt to this new landscape.

In the near future, we may also be required to collect U.S. customs duties and taxes in advance, as carriers are finding it increasingly difficult to collect these from recipients after delivery.

What we are doing

  • We will communicate any changes to you as quickly as possible.
  • To support our U.S. customers, we are offering up to 90 days of free storage for all U.S.-bound forward packages packed on or before August 31, 2025.
  • We are actively seeking an alternative to K-Packet, which was a cost-effective option for packages under 2 kg.

If there is anything else we can do to make your experience easier, please do not hesitate to contact us — we are here to help.

Thank you for your patience and continued support. We’re grateful to have you as part of the Kfriday family.
